Presentation
1. Scope
your Euro Conversion Project
Define what exactly is
required in terms of work, skills and resources.
Set up a Team to manage the
project.
Decide whether you need
one team per department or one team per company.
Decide what needs
achieving and what resources you have to achieve it.
Set out your conversion project
objectives as clearly as possible.
Consider all 'what
if's' at this stage of the
project.
Carry out SWOT analysis i.e. your Strengths,
Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.
Gather as much information as you can about your
users' needs and concerns.
Gather as much information as you can about the
project timescale and cost.
2. Plan
your Euro Conversion Project
You should consider:
What departments need
conversion.
How many Documents,
Spreadsheets, Presentations and Databases need converting.
What applications were
these Documents, Spreadsheets and Databases created in.
How your
team can work smarter,
how they can communicate effectively, how they can be
managed and appraised.
What people resources
(team) are required and for how long.
What training do the
implementation team need on the euro conversion software
to get them on their feet.
How will progress
be
reported back to management.
What budget has been
allocated to the Conversion Project.
Draw up a Gantt Chart
(using MS Project) to map out your Action Plan and put timings against them.
You may
decide to draw up a new Gantt chart for each department.

4.
Evaluate your project
Ask
yourself some questions as a means of evaluating your
project. It may help you improve on future
projects.
You could use the Traffic Light technique, as follows:
Red
- What should we stop doing?
Amber
- What should we consider continuing with and what
should we stop?
Green -
What did we do well and should be used again?
